THS Footwear
The Temora High School Executive have reaffirmed the Department of Education (DoE) and THS School Policy on Footwear at their 2017 Term 1 Week 5 meeting .
The DoE through its Work Health & Safety (WHS) Policy is committed to providing a safe working and learning environment for all employees, students & visitors.
Footwear is an important safety item. In accordance with the Safe Working Policy the DoE has identified areas within the workplace that require specific & appropriate footwear is required & MUST be worn by all in those areas.
Areas where ENCLOSED LEATHER footwear MUST be worn:
All Industrial Arts areas
All workshops
All Agricultural areas
All Science laboratories
All Canteen, Food Tech and Hospitality areas
All D&T areas
Conversely all schools are entitled to make Footwear Policy around good, sensible and safe footwear to be worn in the rest of the school.
If this policy is supported by the schools governing parent body (P&C) then students, teachers and parents are to adhere to this Policy.
General THS Footwear Policy as agreed by the THS P&C requires enclosed solid footwear in either Black, Brown or white.
NO bright fluorescent colours are allowed. Colours such as orange, lime cannot be worn as general footwear at THS.
The footwear rules will be enforced at THS.
